Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Chemical Peel- Level 2.

Level 2 peels are ideal for many skin types with sun damage, uneven tone, or mild-to-moderate texture concerns. A consultation and skin assessment at SUR MedSpa determine suitability, adjusting peel strength or recommending alternatives for darker or sensitive skin to reduce risk.

Expect visible peeling and redness for five to seven days, with complete surface healing in about one to two weeks. Follow post-care instructions, avoid sun exposure, and use prescribed products to speed healing and protect new, sensitive skin.

Most clients benefit from a series of two to four treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. During your consultation we’ll personalize frequency based on skin condition, goals, and response to the initial peel for safe, cumulative improvement.

Clients typically experience a warm, tingling sensation during application and mild discomfort during peeling. We use pre-treatment numbing and calming solutions to minimize discomfort. Over-the-counter pain relievers and cold compresses help manage sensations during recovery.

Temporary side effects include redness, peeling, sensitivity, and minor swelling. Rare risks include infection, scarring, or pigment changes—especially without proper sun protection. A thorough consultation and adherence to pre/post-care minimize complications and ensure safe outcomes.

Avoid tanning, retinoids, and exfoliating products for two weeks prior; stop certain medications as advised during consultation. Arrive with clean skin, and follow our personalized pre-care plan to reduce irritation and optimize your peel’s effectiveness and safety.
